60% of women from CALD backgrounds face significant barriers in the pursuit of employment. We’re on a mission to change the narrative, to empower these women by giving them a chance to thrive in an equitable and inclusive work environment through our work-integrated employment model. We engage with forward-thinking industry partners to establish future employment pathways for sustainable and systemic change.
Contribute to our work-integrated training model where we develop skills in recipe formulation, food handling, customer service & event-related tasks for first-time employees, as stepping stones towards meaningful employment within the hospitality industry.
"I feel confident to talk to customers. At first I was scared and a bit shy, but now it is perfect, I'm not trying to hide. Now I can ask them what they need. Step by step I am building my confidence" - Wesene
Help us deliver our tailored 1:1 employment pathways program, providing mentorship & support for pre and post placement that cover the personal, soft-skills development and social aspects to make our team feel confident for the next step in their career.
"I love coming to work, what has changed is that I'm out meeting people, working here has helped built my confidence on what to do next for my future” - Luisa
Allow our team to showcase their recipes from home, enhancing our co-design framework to continue feeding the community culturally appropriate meals for food relief.
"I said to everyone "now you can go to the restaurant to try my dish". I'm proud because I have something to show everyone here I can share some stories. Maybe after my grandchildren can know this recipe and be proud" - Sido

“Meals With Impact has been providing our Melbourne office
team with a monthly healthy lunch since February 2023, as part of our Wellness at Work program. Each month, our team has the option to select one of Meals with Impact’s delicious and nutritious lunch options, which are made fresh and delivered to our office. The menu provides for all dietary requirements, ensuring an inclusive option for everyone.
Our team loves knowing that our monthly lunch is making a positive difference to our local community and supporting women from migrant
and refugee backgrounds to find employment. Since Meals With Impact moved into its dedicated café on Collins Street, we have made two visits to have lunch on site. Our team has loved the opportunity to meet the women who prepare the meals in person and appreciated the opportunity to pass on their thanks directly. We have also invited Meals With Impact to attend our office for a ‘Lunch & Learn’ session to educate our employees about the great work the organisation does in the community and learn how our support is making a difference to communities in need.
We look forward to continuing to work with Harris, Nikki and the Meals With Impact team again in 2024.”
